5th HELLENIC CANYONING MEETING
SAMOTHRACE 2008. (June 28th – July 5th)
Anyone who is activated in canyonig from all Greece, from all Europe and from all over the world is invited to this meeting!!!
There are 10 canyons on the island and they vary between the difficulty, the length and the size, suitable for both beginners and experienced canyoning athletes. The main characteristic of the canyons is their crystal waters, their beautiful slides and the innumerable Jumps. The biggest
waterfall’s height is 83m, while the canyons of southern side of the island are difficult to access. The mountain “Feggari” (Moon) of the island of Samothrace is the highest among other mountains of the islands of the Aegean Sea, with altitude 1611m.

SCHEDULE
The meeting’s starting date is Saturday June 28th. All
participants are required to present at the meeting base and register.
Registration fee comes to 25, 00 euro and includes:
*An analytic-mountaineering map of island
*Commemorative T-shirt
*Area information brochures
*The dinner of Tuesday July 1st
*Various organizational expenses
Each team leader will need to inform the organizers of the
meeting, the previous evening regarding the canyon that their team plans to visit the next day.
On Sunday June 19th at 21:00, at the “Fisikis Diaviosis”
camping (meeting base area) a Welcome Reception is going to be held, in which
greetings by the organizers and by the representatives of all countries that
will participate will be addressed.
On Tuesday, July the 1st, at 21:00 there will be a dinner hosted
for all the participants of the meeting, at a local tavern. Dinner expenses are
included at the registration fee.
On Friday, July the 4th, at 21:00, you are all invited to the
“Goodbye Beach Party” (location: Pachia Amos Beach) , with music, dance,
drinks,fires onthe beach and loads of fun.
